The journey starts with an unforgettable climb up Haleakala—all 38 miles to the summit of this dormant volcano that formed over a million years ago. At 9,740 feet, the Haleakala Visitor Center rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of Kula and upcountry Maui. You'll see the rare Silversword plant, found nowhere else on earth, alongside endemic Nene geese in their natural habitat. This sacred Polynesian site has been revered since 400-650 A.D., and you'll feel that spiritual energy as you traverse different climate zones in comfort.

Next, you'll explore Iao Valley State Park, where Hawaiian history comes alive. This lush rainforest once served as an ancient battleground and royal burial site. The iconic Iao Needle—a natural rock formation draped in emerald vegetation—towers an impressive 1,200 feet above the valley floor.

Your culinary adventure includes lunch at Hali'imaile General Store, followed by a distillery tour at Hali'imaile Distillery where guests 21 and over can enjoy tastings with valid photo ID. Guests under 21 must wait outside during tastings (15-20 minutes).

Pack warm clothing since summit temperatures can plummet to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
