Neon Nights is an evening stand-up paddleboard trip along the Anahulu River on Oahu's North Shore, launching from Haleiwa. LED lights mounted beneath each board illuminate the river bottom as paddlers make their way upstream, revealing fish, sea turtles, and possibly spotted rays gliding below the surface.
No paddleboarding experience is needed. The pace is calm and the setting is quiet, guided by moonlight and the glow of the boards. Paddleboards, paddles, waterproof phone cases, and sunglasses straps are provided, and life jackets are available.
This trip suits anyone looking for a relaxed, visually engaging time on the water without a yoga component. The class runs rain or shine, though it will be canceled if water conditions become unsafe, with notification sent before the start time.
