Kualoa Ranch

Kualoa Ranch is a private nature reserve and working cattle ranch on Kamehameha Highway in Kāneʻohe, stretching from the mountain cliffs to Kāneʻohe Bay. It is owned and run by descendants of Gerrit P. Judd, who bought land at Kualoa from King Kamehameha III, and its lands of Kualoa, Hakipuʻu and Kaʻaʻawa take in Kaʻaʻawa Valley, the Hakipuʻu Valley rainforest, the ancient Moliʻi fishpond and Secret Island beach. Ancient Hawaiians held Kualoa sacred, as a residence of kings, a place of refuge and a training ground for royalty. Films shot at Kualoa include Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Jumanji, Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla, and the series LOST filmed there too. Every activity is guided by ranch staff, and booking ahead is highly recommended because spaces can sell out. Activities generally go out rain or shine unless there are high winds or lightning, and the ranch may cancel if conditions are unsafe. Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required for e-bike, horseback and zipline rides. Pets, alcohol and drones without written permission are not allowed. Coming from Kāneʻohe, head north on Kahekili Highway, which becomes Kamehameha Highway, and the entrance is on your left as you round the curve past Mokoliʻi Island.
