The Open Group Surf Lesson from North Shore Ohana School of Surfing puts beginners in the water alongside other students learning to surf on Oahu's North Shore. No previous experience is required, making this a solid choice for anyone who has never stood on a board before.
Instructors also cover how to respect the ocean's delicate ecosystem. After the land portion, students move into the water for wave riding. Each instructor works with a small group of students, and every participant receives a rash guard, leash, and a softtop or epoxy surfboard. Instructors hold Red Cross CPR certification and bring North Shore ocean experience to the session.
