The SSI - Open Water Diver certification in Honolulu opens the door to a lifetime of underwater exploration. The 3-4 day program follows a smart weekend format. Weekend one covers orientation, paperwork, and confined water sessions where you'll nail the fundamentals: buoyancy control, mask clearing, and regulator recovery in a controlled setting. Weekend two takes you into real ocean conditions for open water training dives. You'll practice your new skills while exploring marine life alongside your instructor, completing certification requirements as you go.
What sets this SSI - Open Water Diver Honolulu program apart is the intimate class size—just six participants maximum. This means genuine one-on-one attention throughout your training. You'll complete two shore dives and two boat dives for certification, with makeup sessions available if life gets in the way.
Everything you need comes included: regulator, BCD, wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel, plus SSI eLearning materials and DAN student insurance coverage. Once certified, you can dive up to 60 feet anywhere in the world with a buddy—that certification is yours for life.
The program welcomes divers ages 10 and above, regardless of experience level. Transportation and parking fees aren't included, and makeup sessions or extra training days carry supplemental fees. Cancellations must be made via phone at least 24 hours before group excursions to receive a full refund. No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours are non-refundable. In case of operator cancellation due to weather, unforeseen circumstances, or not meeting minimum capacity, customers will receive a full refund or may reschedule at no charge. eLearning fees are non-refundable once assigned.
