This Private Surf Lesson from Kai Sallas' Pro Surf School Hawaii is suited to first-time surfers and those who have tried the sport a few times and want to improve. The lesson is designed for solo participants or a private group of friends and family, giving everyone a chance to progress at their own pace.
The session begins on land, where an instructor walks through everything needed before entering the water. Topics covered include positioning on the board, paddling techniques, how to maneuver over waves, turning, getting to your feet, proper stance, balance, and safety rules. Once in the water, instructors help participants catch waves, stand up, and stay safe throughout.
Children young enough to fall within the operator's stated age cutoff, along with weak swimmers, are required to book a one-on-one format rather than a shared private group.
