Each lesson starts with a land demonstration before moving into the ocean, giving beginners a chance to get comfortable with the basics on shore first.
The private one-on-one lesson is designed specifically for young children, locally called keikis, and focuses on keeping young surfers safe and supported throughout. Depending on the child's size and ability, the instructor will either surf tandem with the child or stay alongside in the water. The instructor remains with the child at every stage of the lesson.
