The Hobie Wave Cat Rental puts guests on a catamaran for a sail across the lagoon at Wai Kai in Ewa Beach, on Oahu. The rental suits families, groups of friends, and first-time sailors alike. After checking in at the waterfront desk, staff fit everyone with life jackets, set up the boat, and walk through a safety and sailing briefing before anyone steps aboard.
There are two ways to sail: confident sailors who pass supervisor approval can self-operate the catamaran, steering and trimming the sail across the lagoon on their own, or guests can sail with a captain who handles the helm while everyone else relaxes and enjoys the water. Either way, life jackets and full setup assistance are included in the rental. The meeting point is at Keoneula Boulevard in Ewa Beach, and the full experience, from check-in through return and docking, wraps up within a short outing.
A few things to bring: swimwear, a towel, and sunscreen, since none of those are provided. Outside food and drinks are not permitted on the boat.
