A boat trip is one of the easiest ways to see Oahu from the water. The options here include sunset sails, snorkel trips (several look for sea turtles), whale watching in season, fireworks cruises and private charters. Many leave from Waikiki and Honolulu; others go from Ko Olina, Waianae, Haleiwa and the North Shore.

Larger catamarans tend to feel steadier and have more room to move around; smaller boats carry fewer people. If you get seasick, take something before you board, sit low in the middle of the boat and watch the horizon.
