About this experience
As a longtime Oahu diving instructor, I can tell you that our 2 tank shipwreck and reef dives - Waikiki Honolulu experience showcases some of the island's most incredible underwater terrain. This 3.5-hour adventure with Banzai Divers Hawaii combines Hawaii's deepest recreational wreck with thriving coral ecosystems that'll blow your mind.
The Sea Tiger wreck dive is the crown jewel - at 80 to 130 feet, it's the deepest recreational wreck on Oahu. This former fishing vessel was intentionally sunk in 1996 by a submarine company, and now massive sea turtles cruise alongside schools of pyramid butterflyfish while white tip sharks patrol the structure. For something truly special, the YO 257/San Pedro dive features twin wrecks sitting just 100 feet apart at 60 to 100 feet deep. Great corals have colonized the decks, creating homes for abundant fish and several eel species. Keep your eyes peeled - that long white submarine still makes appearances between these wrecks.
The reef sites are equally spectacular. Turtle Canyon earned its name honestly - I regularly see up to a dozen green sea turtles at this cleaning station where tangs and wrasses service these protected giants in just 15 to 30 feet of water. At Nautilus Reef, you'll find some of Hawaii's finest hard coral formations in an elongated pattern, with white tip sharks consistently resting under lava rock ledges alongside massive yellow margin moray eels and octopus.
The Horseshoe Reef and Kewalo Pipe combination offers unique horseshoe-shaped formations and a coral-encrusted drainage pipe where spotted eagle rays glide in the distance.
Your 2 tank shipwreck and reef dives - Waikiki Honolulu package includes all diving gear and an English-speaking guide, with convenient Honolulu/Waikiki meetup locations. Certified divers will explore depths from 15 to 130 feet across these diverse underwater landscapes. Remember - cancellations require 48-hour advance notice to avoid forfeiture of fees.
