About this experience

Waikiki is a great base, but Oahu's real hiking is out there - and this is one of the cleaner ways to get at it. The Oahu Friendly Hiking Experience from Massimo Sport Hawaii Tours is fully private and built around your preferences, not a preset group schedule. You pick the trails, they handle the rest.

The trail lineup covers a solid stretch of the island. Manoa Falls and Maunawili Falls are both waterfall hikes - two hours and three hours respectively. Koko Crater Railway Trail delivers views of Honolulu and Oahu's east side in two hours. Diamond Head State Monument, right on the edge of Waikiki, gives you views of Honolulu, Waikiki, and Koko Head Crater in another two-hour outing. The Makapuu Lighthouse Trail is two hours and doubles as a whale-watching spot depending on the season. Koko Crater Botanical Garden is an easier two-hour walk through local plants and plumeria varieties. Kuliouou Ridge takes you deep into the rainforest over three hours. The full outing runs five to six hours.

Groups max out at six people, and your rate covers a personal driver and guide, hotel pickup and drop-off from the Waikiki area, water, sunscreen, towels, fuel surcharge, and local taxes. Pickup from outside Waikiki is available for an additional charge. Be sure to notate your hotel information at checkout. This tour is weather-dependent, so conditions may affect whether the experience goes ahead.

Pack hiking shoes and a water bottle. Sunscreen is provided, though you're welcome to bring your own. Gratuity isn't included, and the tour isn't wheelchair accessible. Note that no-shows will be charged the full price.

As far as booking goes, this Oahu Friendly Hiking Experience is offered exclusively by Massimo Sport Hawaii Tours. Pricing starts from $500, and you won't owe anything if you cancel at least 72 hours out.
