About this experience
The lesson begins on land with a safety briefing and instruction on reading waves, ocean conditions, and surfing etiquette before moving into the water for wave riding. All gear is provided, including a rash guard, leash, and a softtop or epoxy surfboard. Short performance boards are available by special request.
This lesson suits first-time surfers as well as intermediate surfers who want focused, individual attention from an instructor. The format gives each participant the full attention of a Red Cross CPR-certified instructor with North Shore ocean knowledge. Basic swimming ability is needed, and the physical demand is moderate.
Gratuity, meals, and transportation are not included. Come ready to spend meaningful time in the water learning to surf with hands-on guidance throughout.
