Session Package

Ty Gurney Surf School's Session Package begins with an introductory land lesson covering basic skills and water safety, then moves into the ocean to catch real waves at the actual surf lineup. The meeting point is on Lewers Street in Honolulu. A surfboard and rash guard shirt are provided, and a safe place to store belongings is included, so participants can arrive without equipment.

The land lesson gives participants a grounding in fundamentals before entering the water. The school describes its approach as safety-focused, and instructors hold current CPR, ocean lifeguard, and first aid certifications. The session moves at a pace designed to keep participants riding waves and learning throughout their time in the water.

Photos and videos are not part of the standard package but can be arranged in advance as an optional add-on. Gratuity is also optional. The package is open to a very wide age range, making it a workable choice for families as well as individual travelers who want to get into the surf.
