This surf lesson from Wai Kai takes place on the Wai Kai Wave, a controlled wave pool located in Ewa Beach on Oahu. Because the wave is man-made and consistent, there is no paddling out and no need to master pop-ups before standing up. That setup makes the session well-suited for first-timers and novice surfers who want to get comfortable on a board without dealing with unpredictable ocean conditions.
Instructors walk riders through the basics of positioning, balance, and wave riding from the start. Helmets and soft-top boards are provided and required for the opening waves, keeping the learning environment safe and manageable.
Riders should arrive early enough to check in at Guest Services on the Wave Deck and complete a surf orientation and safety briefing before the session begins.
We do not take your payment or set prices, and no operator pays for placement here. What changes is who holds your booking, not what you pay.
