About this experience
It meets at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, right on the beach, so there is no long walk to the water and no hauling equipment across the sand. The session begins with safety instruction on shore, then moves into the water for hands-on coaching tailored to the student's current ability. Beginners work on balance, paddling technique, and turning, while more experienced paddlers can focus on catching waves. A stand-up paddleboard, paddle, and rash guard are provided. Participants should bring swimwear, a towel, and reef-safe sunscreen. Swimmers who are comfortable being submerged are suited for this activity. Those who are pregnant or have prior neck or back injuries should not participate. All instructors hold CPR and lifeguard certification. An electronic liability waiver is required before the session begins and arrives with the confirmation email. Photos and video are available for purchase separately.
