About this experience
This private stand-up paddling lesson from Waikiki Beach Services is designed for small groups and takes place in the calm, protected waters just off Waikiki Beach, with the meeting point at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Kalakaua Avenue. The session begins with safety instruction on the sand, then moves into the water where an instructor guides the group through balancing, paddling, and turning on a SUP board. Paddling takes place over the reef, where turtles may appear in the water below.
The lesson is built for beginners and requires no prior paddling experience. A stand-up paddleboard and rash guard are provided, and all instructors hold CPR and lifeguard certification. Photos and video are available for purchase separately. Participants should bring a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and swimwear. Anyone joining must be able to swim and be comfortable going underwater. Guests who are pregnant or have prior neck or back injuries should not participate.
