From there, participants board a KrantzKraft boat and travel out to Maunalua Bay, where each flight launches and lands from inside the vessel. Flights reach altitudes with views toward the Hawai'i Kai coastline, Koko Crater, Koko Head and the Ko'olau Mountain Range. Just before landing, participants traditionally dip briefly into the bay, so wearing a swimsuit is a good idea.

The activity is low in physical intensity and suits families across a wide range of ages. A minimum weight applies, and pregnant women cannot participate. The operator offers digital photo and GoPro video services for every flight. Other water activities, including banana boat and bumper tube rides, operate from the same floating island and may be available on a space-available basis. Optional paid pickup is available.
