Bumper Tube
Bumper Tube puts riders flat on their stomachs, face close to the water, being pulled by a jet ski through Maunalua Bay or the Hawai'i Kai Lagoon. The ride is short and wet, and anyone who lets go ends up briefly submerged. This is a family-friendly activity that draws kids and adults alike. Pregnant guests cannot participate but may join as observers on the floating activities island on a fee basis. Young children are discouraged from the floating activities island on rough or windy days. Bring sunblock and a towel, or pick them up at the lobby. If the surroundings of Koko Crater, Koko Head, and the Ko'olau Mountain Range inspire photos, bring a waterproof camera or one with a watertight case. Spending money or a card is handy for extras like snacks, drinks, or souvenirs.
Jet Ski
Check-in happens at the Hawai'i Kai Shopping Center, and roundtrip transport from Waikiki hotels is available. After check-in, a safety video and ocean transit take place before riders reach the water. Jet skiing launches from a floating activities island anchored in Maunalua Bay, where an instructor floats each personal watercraft onto a partially submerged platform so riders can wade over and mount up. Younger guests who are not yet old enough to drive are welcome as passengers with an adult on board. Everyone on the water wears a life vest. Swimwear is the right thing to wear, as riders will get wet. Digital photo services are available, and the bay setting offers views of Koko Crater, Koko Head, and the Ko'olau Mountain Range. The floating island also has sunbathing and shaded areas, plus storage bins for personal items. Other water activities operate from the same location, and multiple-experience discounts may be available at check-in. The activity runs Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Parasail
From there, participants board a KrantzKraft boat and travel out to Maunalua Bay, where each flight launches and lands from inside the vessel. Flights reach altitudes with views toward the Hawai'i Kai coastline, Koko Crater, Koko Head and the Ko'olau Mountain Range. Just before landing, participants traditionally dip briefly into the bay, so wearing a swimsuit is a good idea. The activity is low in physical intensity and suits families across a wide range of ages. A minimum weight applies, and pregnant women cannot participate. The operator offers digital photo and GoPro video services for every flight. Other water activities, including banana boat and bumper tube rides, operate from the same floating island and may be available on a space-available basis. Optional paid pickup is available.
