About this experience
This Open Water Certification course from Hawaii Dive Center brings students into the ocean for the checkout dive phase of scuba training. During the first dives, students work at shallower depths and gradually progress to greater depths as comfort and skill build. Every skill practiced in the classroom and confined water gets applied here in real ocean conditions.
Students who successfully demonstrate all required skills in the ocean earn their certification card, completing the path from classroom work to open water. The course runs any day of the week, making it easy to fit around other plans on a Hawaii trip.
Weather decisions are made the day of each dive, so checking in ahead of time is a good habit. Meeting point is in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the schedule spans multiple days of ocean diving spread across the checkout phase.
