About this experience
The Group Surf Lesson from Jamie O'Brien School of Surf takes place on the water in Waikiki, with the surf shop at the Twin Fin Hotel on Kalakaua Avenue serving as the meeting and ending point. The lesson welcomes surfers of all skill levels, so no prior experience is required to join. Each instructor works with a small group of guests, making sure everyone gets personal attention and guidance throughout the session.
All equipment comes included: a surfboard, fins, leash, rash guard, and reef shoes. Guests should bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen. Secure lockers are available at the shop to store belongings during the lesson. Parking is available via valet at the Twin Fin Hotel or self-parking at the Honolulu Zoo nearby.
Jamie O'Brien owns and operates the school but does not teach the lessons himself. Every instructor has been hand selected by him. Guests who are prone to motion sickness may want to take medication before arriving. The school asks that all guests arrive sober, as ocean activities require full concentration.
