Your adventure starts in Ka'elepulu Stream, part of Hawaii's largest body of freshwater streams, where the perfectly calm water makes it easy for beginners to practice and find their balance on the NSP or Riviera boards (10'6" to 11'6"). The full EVA foam deck provides excellent grip, and you'll get the hang of it with your included surf leash and SUP paddle.
Once you're comfortable, Kailua Bay opens up possibilities with its miles of protected waters. The bay's protected nature means beginners can paddle confidently while experienced paddlers can venture further out. With your DLNR offshore islet landing permit, you can visit the offshore islands dotting the bay. Feel like catching some waves? When seasonal swells roll in, there are waves suitable for SUP surfing.
