Before you head out on the trail, you'll choose and plant a native Hawaiian shoreline plant, contributing directly to dune restoration along the coast. It's a small thing, but it lands differently than a typical activity intro. From there, you're on the ATV for 45 minutes of the 60-minute session, moving through organic farm scenery with ocean views the whole way. Goats, sheep, cows, pigs, and chickens make up the farm animal ohana - you can stop to feed them - and the history of Waialua is woven into the experience along the way. Optional photo packages are available if you want something from the trail.

Slotting this into a North Shore day is easy. The meeting point is 67-221 Waialua Beach Road; plan to arrive 30 minutes early for check-in, and be sure to sign the online waiver in your confirmation email before arrival to maximize ride time. Helmets and eye protection are provided, filtered cold water is available on-site, and wear something you're fine getting dirty. Note that no cell phones, bags, or bulky equipment are allowed on ATVs, and passengers riding with a driver will not have access to certain parts of the Maze trail for safety reasons. Age and size rules apply by ATV type: large ATVs require drivers to be 16 or older, medium ATVs 12 or older, small ATVs 10 or older. Passengers must be 8 or older and ride only on large ATVs. Cancellation policy: a full refund is available if you cancel 48 or more hours before your start time. No-shows are charged the full price, and rebooking carries a $40 per-person fee.
