Beachfront ATV, Farm Animals & Native Hawaiian Plant Experience
This North Shore Stables experience takes place on a locally family-owned working farm along the shoreline in Waialua on Oahu's North Shore. Riders drive their own ATV across oceanfront farm land, following a guided trail through organic and sustainable farm scenery. Before getting on the ATV, each guest chooses and plants a native Hawaiian shoreline plant to help restore sand dunes naturally. The itinerary also includes time with the farm animal ohana, meeting goats, sheep, cows, pigs and chickens, with the option to feed them along the trail. Helmets and eye protection are provided, and guests sign a waiver before arrival to keep ride time moving. Wear clothes that can get dirty, and bring a refillable water bottle, as filtered cold water is available on site. Cell phones, bags and bulky equipment are not allowed on the ATVs. Optional add-ons include photo packages, rental boots and custom head socks. Food and beverages are not included.
Malama Hawaii Planting Tour
The Malama Hawaii Planting Tour takes place on the coastlines of Waialua and Haleiwa on Oahu's North Shore, where North Shore Stables serves as an official location for the Malama Hawaii program run by the State of Hawaii and the Hawaii Tourism Authority. The property spans oceanfront land along the North Shore and is undergoing a full restoration of native Hawaiian shoreline plants, native trees, regenerative agriculture, and native Hawaiian cultural practices. During the tour, participants plant native Hawaiian shoreline plants and learn how those plants rebuild sand dunes naturally, prevent erosion, and protect against sea level rise. No tools or power equipment are needed. Garden or working gloves are provided, and cold drinking water is available, though bringing a personal water bottle is recommended. Restrooms are on site. No transportation to the property is included, so arranging a ride separately is necessary. This experience suits locals and visitors who want to contribute directly to restoring a native shoreline ecosystem. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Private Party at the Point
Private Party at the Point lets a group reserve a private event space at North Shore Stables in Waialua, on Oahu. The venue, called The Point, is set up for self-hosted celebrations and comes with wooden picnic tables, a rustic on-site bar and sink, and an elevated, air-conditioned bathroom with multiple stalls. Large groups are asked to call ahead before booking. Optional add-ons can shape the party to the group's preferences. Pony rides bring horses on-site for a portion of the reservation, and a bouncy house rental is available in more than one style, or both styles can be reserved together. Anyone joining the pony rides must wear closed-toe shoes and sign a liability waiver. Helmets are required for younger guests and are provided by North Shore Stables. All groups must finish cleaning up by the designated end time, though time extensions can be requested by contacting the event coordinator by email or phone. Excessive waste left behind or damage to rental items may result in additional fees charged to the card on file.
Malama Kai Fishing Experience
The activity takes place along secluded shoreline sections of a private beachfront property, where a local fishing guide provides hands-on instruction and assistance throughout. Everything needed for the outing is provided, including traditional bamboo poles, line, hooks, lures, bait, beach chairs, a shade tent, and a cooler stocked with ice, local juice, and water. No prior fishing experience is required, and the guide handles setup so guests can focus on fishing. The goal is to remove as many invasive fish as possible, directly supporting community efforts to restore native species populations. Guests who catch enough fish receive a North Shore Stables t-shirt as a thank-you. Fishing takes place on a private bridge and along shoreline areas, so sturdy, comfortable footwear is a practical choice.
