The session begins with checks at several local surf breaks, and the instructor decides where to surf based on conditions that day. Instruction is one on one, which helps surfers feel more at ease in an unfamiliar lineup.
Participants can ride a shortboard, longboard, or mid-length. Beginners receive a soft-top board, while intermediate and advanced surfers are encouraged to bring or rent their own equipment. The operator works with a local surf shop to help arrange board rentals for an added cost.
