Queens Beach (Waikiki)

Queens Beach, also called Queen's Surf Beach, sits in Waikīkī at Queen Kapiʻolani Beach, between the Waikīkī Aquarium and the Kapahulu groin. It is popular with bodyboarders and snorkelers, and its sand joins up with Kūhiō Beach and the rest of Waikīkī. Lifeguards are on duty every day; the State's list of lifeguarded beaches names this stretch Waikiki Queens. The Waikīkī Marine Life Conservation District runs from the Kapahulu Avenue groin to the Natatorium wall and takes in the reef off the Aquarium, so fishing and taking any marine life, sand or coral are prohibited here. Summer swells often bring high surf to the southern shoreline, and waves are especially dangerous at the outer edge of the reef. The City warns that box jellyfish regularly swarm to south shore waters after the full moon, so stay out where they are sighted and observe posted signs. Parking is limited to a small lot by the Waikīkī War Memorial Natatorium and street parking along Kalākaua Avenue, and City buses serve the area.
