Turtle Bay

Turtle Bay is on Oahu's northeastern tip, past Haleʻiwa and near Kahuku, where The Ritz-Carlton Oʻahu, Turtle Bay sits on Kamehameha Highway. The resort's oceanfront land runs along the North Shore coast, with beaches for surfing, swimming, snorkeling or relaxing on the sand. The resort describes Kawela Bay as a peaceful cove with protected waters for kayaking. The resort says you may spot sea turtles or a basking Hawaiian monk seal; NOAA Fisheries asks you not to disturb animals sleeping on the beach, to keep your distance on land and in water, and never to touch, chase or feed them. Turtle Bay, Kuilima Cove and Kawela Bay are not on the State's list of lifeguarded beaches, and north shores get huge, dangerous swells in winter, from November through April, so stay out of the water in high surf.
