Night Dive

Nocturnal creatures become active as the sun goes down, and a divemaster leads the group with lights to spot marine life along the way. On select Friday nights, when timing and conditions allow, the boat may be positioned for fireworks viewing after the dive, though this is not promised and depends on the fireworks schedule, weather, and ocean conditions. This charter is for advanced certified divers who are comfortable diving at night and are strong swimmers. The trip is rated difficult, so it is not suited to casual or entry-level divers. Tank, weights, a dive light, and the boat charter are all included. Gear rental is available as an add-on, and gratuity is not included. Participants should bring snacks and a reusable water bottle. The outing is weather-dependent, so conditions affect whether it runs. Dock call is set shortly before sunset, and the exact time shifts by season. Check-in is at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor boat slip. Pregnant guests cannot participate.

Wreck & Reef – 2 Tank Dive Charter

The boat used is the Diamond T2, and a divemaster guide leads both dives throughout the trip. The first dive visits a wreck site in deeper water. The second dive moves to a shallow reef, where longer bottom time is possible. Tanks and weights are included. Gear rental is available for those who need it. The operator notes that encounters on both dives often include sea turtles, eels, reef sharks, and eagle rays, though specific wildlife cannot be promised. Advanced Open Water certification is required to participate. Physical intensity is rated moderate, so divers should be comfortable in the water and able to handle the demands of back-to-back dives. Reef Explorer – 2 Tank Dive Charter

The charter departs from Ala Small Boat Harbor and heads out to reef sites around Oahu aboard the vessel Diamond T2. A divemaster guide accompanies the group throughout both dives, and tanks and weights are included in the price. Gear rental is available for those who need it. The trip is designed for certified divers and suits open water certification holders well, though divers with more experience are equally welcome. Ride-alongs and snorkelers are welcome to join the boat as well. Swimmers should feel confident in the water before booking, and the physical demand is moderate. The charter runs on a shared boat, so there is no private option. Guests should plan to bring water and snacks for the outing.

Discover Scuba Diving

Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory ocean dive experience for anyone curious about breathing underwater, no prior scuba experience needed. The tour meets at a slip along Ala Moana Boulevard in Honolulu, where participants board a vessel and head out to dive sites in the surrounding waters. The experience starts with a brief orientation on equipment and basic safety guidelines, led by a PADI Professional. After practicing key skills, participants complete one open water dive under direct supervision. Participants should be in reasonable physical health and have basic swimming ability. This tour is a good fit for non-certified divers who want a genuine underwater experience before deciding whether to pursue a full certification course. The PADI Professional will also share information about the PADI Open Water Diver Course for those interested in continuing. Advanced Open Water Certification

The Advanced Open Water Certification course offered by Aloha Scuba Diving Co. is designed for certified Open Water Divers who want to build on their existing skills and gain experience across a broader range of diving situations. The course involves completing dives focused on deep diving and underwater navigation, plus a selection of specialty dives chosen from options such as wreck diving, fish identification, peak performance buoyancy, and dive against debris. All training dives take place from a boat, departing from Ala Small Boat Harbor. Equipment including a wetsuit, BCD, regulator, dive computer, tanks, weights, mask, snorkel, and fins is provided. Each specialty dive completed can count toward a future PADI specialty certification. This course suits confident swimmers with a current Open Water Diver certification. Physical intensity is rated moderate. A PADI Instructor supervises all dives throughout the course. Reef-safe sunscreen, a towel, swimwear, and sunglasses are not included and should be brought along. Gratuity for the crew is also not part of the package price.

Rescue Diver Certification & Emergency First Responder

Classroom sessions take place at the Aloha Scuba Dive Shop, and open-water training is conducted from shore at a location the instructor arranges. The course manual is included in tuition, along with tanks, weights, and Emergency First Response CPR and First Aid training. Students work through topics including self-rescue, recognizing stress in other divers, emergency management and equipment, and techniques for rescuing both panicked and unresponsive divers. Knowledge development sessions combine with hands-on rescue exercises and scenarios, so skills become practical and reliable. An e-learning option is available at checkout. Instructors may also offer the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty alongside the main course. To enroll, a student must hold a PADI Adventure Diver certification and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive.

PADI Scuba Diver

No prior scuba experience is required. The day begins at the dive shop on Atkinson Drive in Honolulu, where participants check in and review knowledge before moving into confined water training to practice essential skills in a controlled setting. From there, the course moves to open water shore dives, where those skills are applied in the ocean. All rental scuba gear is provided, and transportation to and from the dive site is included. PADI eLearning access is also included so participants can study before the in-person day begins, and that eLearning must be completed before arriving. Participants should bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and a water bottle. Meals, personal snacks, and towels are not included. A PADI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire must be completed before training begins, and certain medical conditions require a physician's evaluation and clearance in advance. A basic swim test is also required.

Open Water Certification

The Open Water Certification course from Aloha Scuba Diving Co. takes students from complete beginner to fully certified PADI Open Water Divers across a structured series of sessions. The course begins with PADI eLearning completed at home, where students build a foundation in scuba principles, pressure, gear selection, and dive planning. Confined water training then takes place at Magic Island, where an instructor guides students through essential skills including mask clearing, hovering, and gear setup. All rental equipment is provided for both confined water and ocean sessions. Shore dives on the first day let students apply their skills in real conditions, and boat dives on the second day depart from Ala Wai harbor. Reef-safe sunscreen, a towel, and swimwear are not provided and should be brought along.

PADI Specialty Courses: Beyond the Basics

Each course combines PADI eLearning, which allows study at a personal pace before in-water sessions, with hands-on instruction from a PADI professional. Specialty certifications also count toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. Hotel pickup is not provided. Confident swimming ability is needed, and the physical demand is moderate. Because course prerequisites vary by specialty, most require at least an Open Water Diver certification, while some require Advanced Open Water or equivalent. All participants must complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire before joining any course. Participants under the age of majority must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout training. Bring swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a water bottle, and a camera if underwater photography is on the agenda. Reactivate

Reactivate is a PADI program offered by Aloha Scuba Diving Co. for certified divers who have been out of the water for an extended period and want to get back to diving safely. Divers who complete the program receive an updated certification card. All scuba equipment is included, covering a wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tanks, weights, mask, snorkel, and fins, along with PADI eLearning materials. Participants should bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen. A completed medical statement is required before the session, so reviewing the PADI Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire before booking is strongly advised. Confident swimming ability is needed, and the physical intensity is rated moderate. The program is weather dependent, so conditions on the day may affect scheduling. Food and drinks are not provided.
