About this experience
The lesson meets at Chuns Reef Beach in Haleiwa on Oahu's North Shore. Each instructor is assigned exclusively to the booking party, and the student-to-instructor ratio is set at the time of booking based on group size.
The session opens on land with instruction on how to stand up on a board, a safety briefing, and a rundown of surfing etiquette before heading into the water. All gear is provided, including a rash guard, leash, and a softtop or epoxy surfboard. No previous surfing experience is required.
Instructors hold Red Cross CPR certification and carry North Shore ocean knowledge. The lesson location also serves as a snorkel spot where green sea turtles, reef fish, manta rays, humpback whales during winter migration, and spinner dolphins during summer may be present in the water.
