About this experience
Surf Lessons! by Ohana Surf Project takes place in Waikiki, starting at the Ohana Surf Center inside the Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel. A shuttle picks participants up from convenient spots in Waikiki and brings them to the shop, where they check in, gear up, and watch a safety briefing before heading to the beach for the lesson itself. After the session, everyone returns to the shop to view any footage captured on the water.
Lessons are tailored to any experience level. Beginners learn surfing etiquette, water safety, paddling, and how to catch a wave. Intermediate and advanced surfers work on technique, habits, and more challenging maneuvers.
A surfboard, long-sleeve rashguard, reef shoes, and a secure place to store belongings are all included. Participants should bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. Wetsuits are available to rent separately, and photos or video footage can be purchased at the shop after the lesson. The tour is stroller and wheelchair accessible with advance notice.
