About this experience
Canoe Surfing with Waikiki Beach Services puts participants in a traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoe to paddle out to the surf break and ride waves back to shore. The experience meets at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Kalakaua Avenue, where certified canoe captains, all CPR and lifeguard certified, guide each group through the water.
Guardians must supply a personal flotation device for children, and lifejackets are available upon request for adults. Participants should arrive early to check in at the service counter and complete an electronic liability waiver before getting on the water. Bringing a towel and reef-safe sunscreen is recommended, as neither is included. Photos and video can be purchased separately. In cases of large surf or unpredictable ocean conditions, the operator may reschedule or cancel for safety.
